Our Big and Little

The night Harper was born, Carys came up to meet her little sister.  It was a really quick visit because it was close to Carys's bedtime and Carys didn't like the fact that Mommy was in bed and couldn't get up, so we didn't want to push it.  She checked out her little sister and even gave her a couple of kisses, but then she was more excited to open her Big Sister present from Harper.  She also got an extra special Big Sister gift from Aunt Nettie, but we'll show that in a different post.  So, anyway here's our Big and Little - both have captured our hearts completely, and we feel so extremely blessed to have two sweet girls!

First picture as a family of four!

 Kisses for Harper

Another kiss - Such a sweet Big Sister!

And here's a few more shots from Harper Alice's birth day.  We will be going home tomorrow, so right now I'm just enjoying lots of cuddle time with our sweet girl.  She has been so mellow.  She's not a fan of getting her diaper changed and was awake more last night than she's been yesterday or today, but I'm loving having some one on one time with her.  I know once we get home, things will be a little crazy with a toddler and a newborn, so I'm soaking in the calm of the hospital while I can!

We are so thankful for this beautiful, little girl!

There's Someone We'd Like You to Meet

Harper Alice.

Our sweet new love bug was born today at 5:39 PM. She weighed 6 pounds and is 19 inches long. We think she is absolutely perfect!

Look Who's Two

Carys turned two at the beginning of the month.  We didn't have a big party for her this year, but we did have a lot of fun celebrating with family the past few weekends.  Grandma Alice, Grandpa Tom, Uncle Hoon and Brooke were all in town the weekend before her birthday for a family wedding, so of course we squeezed in a little party for Carys on Friday night.

Checking out her "cookie monster"!

After licking off the frosting on top and scooping out most of the frosting in the middle she asked for "nother one?"  So, I think she liked it!

Present time!

Carys loved Baby Stella and her paci!

And Baby Stella looks even cuter in her "love bug" outfit!

Our gift to Carys was a play kitchen, so Gma & Gpa got her some food to stock the fridge!

And of course, what's a party without cheesy party favors!

Uncle Hoon couldn't be with us on Friday night because he had Best Man activities to attend, but thankfully Brooke was with us and able to send David lots of pictures to keep him updated!

Then before we left for the wedding on Saturday, we opened more presents this time with Uncle Hoon!

Checking out her Poison Spider "future cyclist" t-shirt!

Checking out her new tent!

On her actual birthday we celebrated with just the three of us, and then Grandma Judy stopped by to share in the fun and drop off some super cute presents.

Making cookies!

I can't believe how quickly the past two years have flown by.  Obviously we've had our challenges here and there, but having Carys in our life has brought us more joy than we ever could have imagined.  She has been learning so much lately, and is constantly impressing us with her vocabulary and the things she remembers.  Of course, she is constantly cracking us up with the things she says and does too.  It's never a dull moment with her and I really wouldn't want it any other way!

Happy Birthday Bug!  Mommy and Daddy love you SO much!

Wordless Wednesday - Just like Daddy
